Aselin's FFXI Notepad

With Final Fantasy XIII release in Japan just days away, a TV special was aired on December 12 if going by the date that I got this.  This video includes:

• Interviews with the cast and people behind FFXIII
• Behind-the-scenes look at FFXIII
• And, as an added bonus, a music video of the title song for FFXIII at the end of the TV special

It’s all in Japanese, and as much as I’d like to subtitle it, my Japanese isn’t that good to do so.  I can pick up several words here and there, but that’s about it.

I am pretty excited for the game and hopefully it’ll be better than FFXII.   I am also providing the song that I got off the video found here: FFXIII Title Music (So-so quality) (31).  It has a few clicks at the beginning and end, and cuts off pretty quickly.  Thus, it is all the more reason to get the soundtrack when it’s released.

Other merchandise that I’m tempted to get is this: FFXIII PS3 Collector’s Edition Console.

Anyway, enjoy the video, even though I know this is a rare post on my blog in quite a while.  Also, if interested in signing up for FFXIV’s beta program, the link is here.  Beta sign-ups have started for the upcoming FFXIV MMO.  I already signed up and I’ll see if it’s enough to make me jump over to it.

Since I haven’t logged on much onto FFXI lately, I’ve been rather bored with the game since I have no endgame LS and not a lot of friends left, and at the same time my decision on what to do now is still in limbo.  Therefore, to give you an idea on how bored I am with the game as of late, this is a part of the conversation I had with a friend today on Skype IM.

The story I’ve been writing recently I’m still working on it.  It’s up to Part 6 now.  I’ve been writing and editing as I go along, which is why it takes a while.  I’ve also renamed it to “Bismarck: Second Chances.”  I’m intending this to be a part of a larger series of stories.  This would be Chapter 1 for “Bismarck.”  After Second Chances is completed, the story will go back six months, then after that who knows?  I’m intending this to be a pseudo-biography of sorts with the last five years in this game compressed into a series of short stories– fictional and factual, you decide.  Of course it’s fan fiction, but I’m doing it in a much different way than other FFXI fan fiction out there to date.

You know you watch a movie too often and so much that you can recite the lines spoken by the actors and actresses in the movie, and can sing along to the words of the music that’s played.  Two movies fall into that category– “Sleepless in Seattle” and “You’ve Got Mail,” in that order.  I have watched it so much to the point that I’ve started memorizing the movie.  I thought “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye would be it, but that movie would be third on the list.  Then again, I’ve memorized the song “White Christmas” down spat.

It’s sad isn’t it?  I just love the classic music, the oldies, the mood and emotion in the songs being played.  I love the dynamics and chemistry between Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.  If they made a third romantic comedy with Nora Ephron at the helm again, would I watch it?

Oh, you bet!  I’ll be there opening night when it premieres.  Hands down, no questions asked.
