We got Simurgh, Jaded Jody, and Eastern Shadow. Of the three NMs, two dropped their respective items.

^ That right there took me a little over two years to obtain.
I must have passed it about six times to other people in previous Salvage statics. Why? It’s because Marduk’s hands are pretty much more useful for White Mages than Bard. Yeah, I’m that nice, and like I always say, “others before myself.” However, in my new Salvage static, I finally got them.
That now makes me 48/50 on Marduk pieces. I’m missing the level 25 pieces for the hands and the head now. Once I obtain them, I’ll be 5/5 Marduk’s, but that’s if and when I finish Marduk’s body. Marduk’s Tiara and Hands are a bit easier to swallow money-wise.
This comes to the next piece of gear that took me by surprise somewhat…

For the first part of this series, after much thinking, I will look at one of the most important aspects of an MMO– security. A year ago, players were the subject of various exploits because their computers were unprotected from vulnerabilities found in Javascript and Adobe Flash. The people behind RMT activities managed to slip code in their own banner ads that are displayed on various FFXI-related websites. This code allowed the “RMT hackers” access to player’s accounts, keylog their PlayOnline ID and password and take control of the account. Players to their surprise and disappointment have found months and years of hard work gone in an instant. Many of their characters had their Rare/Ex equipment gears dropped and were stripped of everything and sold.

I’ve been writing and editing as I go along, which is why it takes a while. I’ve also renamed it to “Bismarck: Second Chances.” I’m intending this to be a part of a larger series of stories. This would be Chapter 1 for “Bismarck.” After Second Chances is completed, the story will go back six months, then after that who knows? I’m intending this to be a pseudo-biography of sorts with the last five years in this game compressed into a series of short stories– fictional and factual, you decide. Of course it’s fan fiction, but I’m doing it in a much different way than other FFXI fan fiction out there to date.
