It only took two years, and millions of Gil before and after the inflation that plagued our server, to get 78 Smithing and Adept Rank.
However, being level 68 Smithing for two years, I picked it up again a few months ago. Why? Well, I got my third and final piece for Marduk’s Jubbah, a very wonderful body piece for Bard. Poroggo Madame finally showed me some pity after all she put me through for five months!
Anyway, that gave me the needed motivation to pick up Smithing again to level it to 99 and make my own Imperial Wootz Ingots. No way am I going to spend 11 to 12 million Gil that might go towards a Gil seller/RMT, or a greedy crafter. Nuh-uh, not doing it. I’ll do it my way.
Therefore, after a long road, I made it to 78 Smithing tonight. 
I hurried back to Northern San’doria from Tavnazian Safehold before the Smithing Guild closed to turn in the Bastard Sword that I crafted soon after I got 78 Smithing.
And, lo and behold…
Adept rank. ^^
Now… 21 levels to go until 99. */psych*
Goodbye money! ^^;;; Why? It’s Adaman Ingots from here on out. I’m synthing Darksteel Nodowas as a bridge synth to 83 as Adaman Sheets are 85. I tried Troll Bronze, but there is rarely any of the needed materials on the AH; and soloing a Troll that drops them without Treasure Hunter is a pain in the ass. >_<
Anyway, I need to recoup some money then it’s a complete burn to 85. I’ll add a guide to Smithing soon so you will know what I did to get this far, and hopefully future Smithers will, too.
